Individual Therapy for Women Experiencing Depression and Anxiety

Support for stress, anxiety, depression, life transitions and so much more.

You’re used to having it all together. You’re usually the “strong friend”. Showing up for others has become a part of your identity. What they don’t know is sometimes you want someone to hear you when you speak, to find a shoulder to lean on. Sometimes it’s lonely and it can be scary to admit vulnerability and that you go through things too.

Women entering into womanhood and motherhood have unique experiences that begin to shape who we are. So much of our lives are shaped by our roles: daughter, sister, student, career woman, friend, girlfriend, wife, mother that we sometimes forget who we are individually. There’s so much pressure to be “perfect” at everything, to seem like nothing bothers you, to do everything well and to have a smile on your face while you do it. We become performers in our own lives. Next thing you know, you’ve forgotten what you enjoy, what makes you you, and what fills you up when your cup is empty. This can often lead to burnout, anxiety, depression, and resentment, but working with a counselor who understands can help you start feeling like yourself again.

You may be thinking...

Is counseling for me?

The better question is, “Why not you, sis”?  You deserve quality counseling to help you sort through childhood wounds, how scary and intimidating it can be to be an adult out on your own or to be a mother responsible for raising and making decisions for your little human(s). The joy and sometimes frustrations and resentment that come with being a wife, friend, sister, and daughter.

This is a safe space to focus on you and you alone. Counseling creates space where you can say what you’re feeling without judgement. Visualize yourself gaining tools to help you address and communicate your needs and release the things that you have been holding onto for years.

How we can help

Blossom Forward provides individual psychotherapy for women who may be seeking counseling to overcome feelings of anxiety, depression, and loneliness, or who may just be looking for a safe space to release stresses of day to day life. Counseling can be short term and solution focused based on your current situation or long term to help explore past experiences and their connection to current behaviors and relationships. Counseling specialities include:

Anxiety

Persistent feelings of anxiety, worry, or panic can be overwhelming and can damage the health of your mind, body, and relationships. Counseling can help you identify and understand the source of your anxiety and what triggers feelings of anxiousness in your day-to-day life while providing you with the tools, knowledge, and support to address anxious thought patterns and manage anxious thoughts as they occur.

Depression

If you’re currently struggling with feelings of depression, isolation, or hopelessness, please know that you are not alone. We’re here to make space for you, to listen, and to work with you to create a plan to target the symptoms of your depression. A counselor can work with you to help you practice and integrate new coping skills, reduce negative thought patterns, establish healthy boundaries, and develop routines that improve your wellbeing so that you can start feeling like yourself again.

Stress & Life Transitions

Whether you’ve just transitioned into motherhood, began a new career or educational opportunity, or are grieving the end of a relationship or the loss of a loved one, life transitions and the periods of high stress that often surround them can take a toll on your emotional wellbeing. Working with a counselor can help you finally work through the stress or shame you’ve been carrying and to provide the tools and support to allow you to work through your emotions in a healthy way.
